Link
Designs for the outfit Link wears during his apprenticeship as an engineer. This was the first Zelda game to show Link wearing a uniform. Perhaps the large number of design sketches is proof of how much effort the staff poured into this aspect. In the end, the question of which outfit Link would wear was determined based upon how much like an engineer it made him look.
I’m going to go with this type of hat, one that has a brim! I want the breast and sleeves of his outfit to make him look mischievous, with only his hat worn smartly on his head.
We shouldn’t have him wearing green while he’s riding the steam engine…
Link might be too formal-looking here…
Link and Alfonzo’s contrasting colours. I want their designs to match, even if the colours don’t.
Link and Zelda shouldn’t both be wearing pink.
Too formal.
Brown could be good.
He looks sharp in black.
Kind of dull, but it could work.
Overalls might be too simple…
The bandana might make him overlap with Tetra’s design. No hat in this one.
