Wow, this art is gorgeous!! And it really is about Zelda! How cool!

Gogeous art? WTF are you talking about!? This looks so bland and generic its not even funny. Even though at the time there wasnt much art for Zelda games, character design is bastardized compared to the manuals, and didnt a link to the past come only a few years after this was made? Plot and writing so far is atrocious, cliche, and already feels rushed so far. Its like they took some average generic fantasy manga and pretended it was Zelda related. Aounouma would hang himself if this tripe was officially published in English, let anyone ever remember this.

Geeeez, obsess a little, do you?

The manga is *clearly* old, probably from the 80’s. The art is dated, but it’s in fact quite good all accounted, in the Ranma 1/2 style… yes, nowadays manga is much more refined and artsy, but nowadays manga writers get like 15 people to help them…

The story *is* run-off-the-mill fantasy, I agree. But it’s still interesting how the focus is on Zelda instead of Link, at least so far. But if this was released before A Link to the Past, and had no cooperation from Nintendo, that means the mangaka was allowed a lot of freedom… and that this was written before the Zelda cannon was copletely set.

HeroOfTime: While I respect your difference in opinion, you would do well to state your position in a less inflammatory way. I’ll leave your post up for now, but please conduct yourself with a good deal more tact in the future.

Geez the art is good, could you do any better, HeroOfTime? I somehow doubt it, although if you think you could I’d be happy to see your Zelda comic!
It is pretty amusing how it bears little in common with the original NES game…not like it really matters, it’s just funny, considering how the game series has progressed in terms of story complexity (if only b/c graphical capabilities have improved over 20-odd years).

This is WAY better than the comic for ALttP that showed up in Nintendo Power. Seriously, here in the states nobody even knew what the heck Manga was back then, it’s a shame we missed out.
